Cycle Vietnam Itinerary

15 Days

Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi

Upon your arrival at the airport, a warm greeting awaits you, and you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, various activities can be arranged for the remainder of the day.

Day 2: Hanoi to Hue

Embark on a comprehensive tour of Hanoi this morning. The rest of the day is yours to explore the captivating streets of the Old Quarter, where time seems to stand still. In the evening, you will be transferred to the train station for an overnight journey southwards to Hue.

Day 3: Hue

Upon your early morning arrival in Hue, you will be transferred to the hotel. Later in the morning, embark on your first cycling adventure through the former Imperial capital of Hue. Explore the Citadel, visit the Emperors’ mausoleums in the afternoon, and continue on to Thien Mu Pagoda—a symbol of Hue.

Day 4: Cycling from Hue to Hoi An (30 – 70km Cycling)

Today, you have the option to challenge yourself by cycling to the top of the Hai Van Pass, reaching some 500 meters above sea level. Choose to either conclude your cycling at the summit or continue the descent on the other side, ultimately concluding your journey in Hoi An. In the late afternoon, embark on a short walking tour through the old streets of this picturesque town.

Day 5: Day at Leisure in Hoi An

Enjoy a day at leisure with various options available. Consider having custom clothes made by one of the town’s many tailors, join a fun cooking class to master Vietnamese dishes, or simply relax on the beach for a laid-back experience.

Day 6: Cycling to My Lai (30km Cycling)

Depart from Hoi An mid-morning and take the bus to Chau O. Enjoy a picnic lunch and embark on a cycling journey through Chau O to the hamlet of My Lai. Explore the poignant memorial dedicated to the villagers who lost their lives in the tragic massacre during the Vietnam War. After visiting the memorial and museum, continue your journey to Quang Ngai.

Day 7: Quang Ngai to Kontum (60km Cycling)

Today presents a more challenging ride as you veer off Highway 1 and venture inland toward Quang Nam. Cycling will occupy only part of the day, traversing undulating roads with breathtaking photo opportunities. Pass by remote villages, navigate through tropical forests, cross bridges, and journey along quiet roads.

Day 8: Buon Me Thuot (100km Cycling)

Today’s cycling adventure bypasses the highway, taking you through exceptional scenery featuring rubber and tea plantations, as well as ethnic minority villages. The route follows paved roads, culminating in your arrival in the largest town in the Western Highlands.

Day 9: Buon Me Thuot to Dalat (100km Cycling)

Embark on a full day of cycling today, covering 50km along the valley floors before tackling the mountainous route of Highway 27. The breathtaking scenery along the way sets the stage for your arrival in Dalat in the late afternoon.

Day 10: Dalat Cycling Tour (50km Cycling)

Experience a comprehensive cycling tour of Dalat, exploring the main sights of this serene mountain retreat. Visit Emperor Bao Dai’s Summer Palace, explore Xuan Huong Lake, and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the town market.

Day 11: Dalat to Nha Trang (100km Cycling)

Embark on a mostly downhill cycling adventure today, heading towards the coast and the city of Nha Trang. Traverse minority villages and enjoy kilometers of pristine beaches before reaching the popular Vietnamese resort of Nha Trang, celebrated for its excellent climate and beautiful offshore islands.

Day 12: Nha Trang

Today is a cycle-free day, allowing you to bask in the clear blue waters and serene ambiance of this delightful resort. Opt for a boat excursion to explore nearby islands, indulging in a day of swimming and snorkeling in the azure waters. Return to Nha Trang in the afternoon and enjoy leisure time.

Day 13: Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City

This morning, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, embark on a walk through the heart of the city, passing by some of Ho Chi Minh City’s iconic sites. Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Colonial-era Post Office, the Presidential Palace (also known as the Reunification Palace), and the War Remnants Museum.

Day 14: Cu Chi Tunnels

In the morning, explore the remarkable Cu Chi Tunnels, a historic site of fierce fighting during the Vietnam War. The afternoon is yours to delve into the wonders of this bustling metropolis. In the evening, savor a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy a day of leisure in Ho Chi Minh City before your transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
